The Philadelphia Eagles' roster is hurting right now. One area that's been impacted by injuries is wide receiver, as No. 3 Quez Watkins has been in and out of the lineup due to a hamstring issue.

With Watkins expected to miss more time, Philadelphia signed a shocking free agent on Tuesday.

The Eagles announced they have signed wide receiver Julio Jones to bolster their depth. The former Atlanta Falcons star spent last season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and before that was teammates with current Eagles standout A.J. Brown on the Tennessee Titans.

Time hasn't been too kind to the seven-time Pro Bowler in recent years. He's experienced a significant drop-off in play from his All-Pro days, posting 434 yards in 2021 and just 299 in 2022.

After enjoying a near-spotless health record, Jones has also struggled to stay active as he's bounce around the league. He's made 9, 10 and 10 appearnces over the last three seasons, respectively, with lower-leg problems (including the hamstring) being the main culprit.

That being said, Jones is only being brought in as a supporting piece, which should quell some worries. He's a future Hall-of-Famer after all and still capable of making a highlight catch here or there.

At the very least, Jones provides a steady veteran hand to support the young leading duo in Brown and DeVonta Smith. At 6-foot-3, 220 pounds, the former superstar also gives Jalen Hurts a legitimate big-bodied weapon who could help alleviate some of the offense's red zone woes.
