Eagles Listed as Potential Landing Spot for Star Wide Receiver

The Philadelphia Eagles haven't had the start to the season they had envisioned. The offense has been ineffective outside of Saquon Barkley. One of the biggest reasons for that has been the continued absences of DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown due to injuries.
During their star receiver's absences, the rest of the team failed to step up, most notably Jahan Dotson. The underwhelming production by the big offseason acquisition began to raise questions among Eagles fans about whether the team needs to add another pass-catcher.
This was only exacerbated by the news of the week that Raiders star Davante Adams has requested a trade. The Jets have been considered the frontrunner in the Adams sweepstakes but the All-Pro receiver reportedly said that he is open to considering other teams.
In fact, the Eagles have been listed as a potential landing spot for Adams by Logan Ulrich on NFL Trade Rumors. They are under the "longshots" category along with the Cowboys and the Chiefs and that is likely due to the financial aspects of such a deal.
The Eagles have $11 million in cap space, not enough to bring Adams in. Either the Raiders have to eat some of his caps or Philadelphia would have to include a player in the deal. Whether the Raiders would be open to that idea is another question.
Another complicating factor is the price tag. Adams will likely require at least a second-round pick in a trade. There is a risk of him being a one-year rental. Even though the Eagles would love the three-headed monster of Brown, Smith, and Adams as their receiver corps, it may be too steep of a price for a position of not the utmost necessity.
