The Philadelphia Eagles have been hit with devastating injuries to their star offensive weapons to start the season. AJ Brown missed the last three games while DeVonta Smith was absent against the Bucs after leaving Week 3 with a concussion.

Any team without its top two receivers will struggle offensively in the NFL. However, the Eagles' offense has looked particularly impotent in the past few weeks. One of the reasons that went under the radar for that has been the performance of Jahan Dotson.

The Eagles revamped their WR depth in the offseason, letting Olamide Zaccheaus, Quez Watkins, and Julio Jones walk. Right before the start of the season, they traded for Jahan Dotson from the Washington Commanders to be their WR3. So far, that move hasn't paid dividends. In fact, many Eagles fans wish they still had Zaccheaus on the roster instead.

Eagles Already Have Buyer's Remorse on WR Jahan Dotson

The Eagles traded a third-round pick and two seven-round selections in exchange for Dotson and a fifth-rounder. Dotson has been steadily increasing his snap count over the past couple of weeks but his production has stayed the same. In 200 offensive snaps through four games, the former first-round pick has five catches for 25 yards. Even Britain Covey and Parris Campbell have been more effective than him in the passing game so far.

On the other hand, Zaccheaus has been playing well in Washington despite having a smaller role. He has 10 catches for 114 yards, raising questions about Philadelphia's decision to let him go after only one season with the team.

Obviously, it is not all on Dotson. He hasn't had enough time to build chemistry with Jalen Hurts. However, the team has desperately needed him in the past two weeks and the former Penn State star completely failed. Whether he will be able to get back on track soon will play a huge part in determining the success of the Eagles' season.
