Philadelphia Eagles fans are ready to put the 2023 NFL season behind them following a disappointing end to the campaign. Even though things didn't go as planned, Howie Roseman is still one of the best general managers in the league and if anyone's capable of turning the franchise around, it's him.

Fortunately, the 2024 NFL Draft will allow the Eagles to upgrade the roster with some fresh faces. The franchise already had a handful of picks heading into April's draft but that number has since increased with this year's compensatory pick projections.

Eagles Compensatory Draft Picks 2024

Over the Cap released its 2024 compensatory pick projections earlier this week and it's looking pretty promising for the Eagles. As it stands, Philadelphia is projected to receive four extra picks to use in April, giving the fanbase a reason to feel optimistic about the future.

These compensatory selections mean the Eagles now have a whopping nine picks to make at the 2024 NFL Draft. Eight of Philadelphia's nine selections will be made in Round 5 or early with three of those occurring within the top 53 picks.

What are Compensatory Picks?

NFL teams are awarded compensatory picks each season based on free agent signings and departures. Players who qualify for this are those who are unrestricted free agents before 4 p.m. on the Monday following the NFL Draft of the previous season and also rank within the top 35% of all league players.

If a team loses more qualifying UFAs than they sign, they'll be awarded compensatory selections. These picks can range anywhere from the third to seventh rounds, however, no team can hold more than four compensatory selections.

The Eagles have a lot of improvements to make following their second-half collapse. Hopefully, the compensatory picks they make in April help turn the team become a legitimate threat next fall.
