Summer break is finally over for NFL teams. Now it's time to start practice and training camps are beginning around the league.

July 23 was the day that both rookies and veterans reported to training camp for the Philadelphia Eagles.

As for the New York Jets, veterans are heading into the building today but one of their offseason acquisitions isn't present.

And it showcases the Eagles made the right choice.

NFL News: Haason Reddick Is Holding Out

According to Ian Rapoport, Reddick is holding out of training camp as he looks for an adjustment to his current deal.

This isn't much of a surprise, as the 29-year-old has been wanting a new contract for some time now. That was a big reason why the Eagles decided to ship him out and add EDGE Bryce Huff on a three-year, $51.1 million deal.

Per Brian Costello of the NY Post, the Jets offered Reddick an extension prior to the trade but he declined. New York expected Reddick to participate in the spring program and continue contract talks but he held out of that too.

The Eagles are looking like geniuses for moving on the Temple product when they did. This isn't the start you want as you prepare for a new season.

Reddick is off to a bad start with his new club and the Eagles are happy they don't have to deal with this.

Huff, 26, has a quick get-off and is able to wreak havoc in the backfield. He has 17.5 sacks in his career, including a career-best 10 sacks in 2023.

Now the Eagles have their young pass rusher locked up while Reddick is causing drama in New York. Howie Roseman certainly cracked a smile when he saw this report.
