Several Eagles Vets Lobbying for Surprise Position Change
The Philadelphia Eagles enter the 2024 season with Super Bowl aspirations. After a disappointing ending to the 2023 season, management made sure to add more playmakers to the roster on both sides of the ball.
The Eagles offense has stars like Jalen Hurts, A.J. Brown, Saquon Barkley, DeVonta Smith, and Dallas Goedert.
When they get into the redzone, there are so many different weapons that can get the ball past the goalline. Even with Jason Kelce gone, the infamous tush push is always an option.
Some linemen are looking to get a few snaps on offense which will catch some fans by surprise.
Eagles News: Jalen Carter, Jordan Mailata, and Jordan Davis Want Offensive Reps
Per the British Eagles podcast, Jalen Carter, Jordan Mailata, and Jordan Davis have been asking running back coach Jemal Singleton to get some snaps at running back in short-yardage situations.
How likely that transpires remains to be seen but that is an interesting option. Mailata (365 pounds), Carter (314 pounds), and Davis (336 pounds) are stout and powerful forces at their respective positions.
Could you imagine them converting on a third or fourth and short? What about a red zone touchdown? That is something that doesn't need to be in the offensive game plan on a weekly basis but could keep defenses guessing.
Who knows if they'll even get the opportunity to run the ball but big guys love getting a chance to shine offensively. All three of these guys have good athleticism for their size but it remains to be seen if they can get a chance as ball carriers.
