6 Eagles Free Agents Most Likely to Walk This Offseason
By Randy Gurzi
The Philadelphia Eagles will look different in 2024. Starting center Jason Kelce, who was one of the biggest stars the team has had in years, announced his retirement recently. Even though it was expected, it's always tough to see one of the most consistent and likable performers walk away from the game.
That won't be the only player who leaves either, as we all know change is one of the few constants in the NFL. Philly will have Brandon Graham back but the status of Fletcher Cox is still up in the air. If he doesn't re-sign, he could be joining Kelce in retirement.
As for the remainder of their free agents, these six are the most likely to be playing elsewhere in 2024.
6. Quez Watkins, WR
A sixth-round pick out of Southern Miss in 2020, Quez Watkins was an intriguing prospect due to his 4.35 speed. He quickly caught on and had 647 yards on 44 receptions in his second season in the league. While his usage dropped in 2022, he still had 354 yards.
Then in 2023, his production fell off a cliff.
Watkins missed eight games and when he was on the field, he was hardly getting the ball. He finished with just 15 receptions for 142 yards which is a career-low 9.5 yards per catch.
His speed will entice another team to give him a shot and Watkins will welcome the change of scenery. The Eagles will also prefer to find a new WR3, making this split seem like a good move for both sides.
