Eagles Finally Pull Off Major Haason Reddick Trade

The Eagles pulled off one of their biggest moves of the offseason on Friday, reportedly trading star pass rusher Haason Reddick to the New York Jets for a conditional 2026 third-round draft pick.
If Reddick plays at least 67.5% of snaps this year and records 10+ sacks, the pick will become a second-rounder. This represents a slight shift from previous reporting that Philadelphia wouldn't budge from demands for a second-round selection, and it's a bit surprising that the Eagles settled for a 2026 pick instead of one in the next two drafts.
Nonetheless, this represents a major shift for Philly's defense as the team hopes to return to the Super Bowl after a disappointing conclusion to the 2023 season.

A former first-round pick from the 2017 NFL Draft, Reddick spent four seasons in Arizona before joining Carolina for a year. He was with Philadelphia for the last two years, accumulating 27 sacks with 87 tackles as an Eagle.
One of the NFL's best pass rushers, Reddick is still just 29 years old and has 11+ sacks in four straight seasons. It was reported the Eagles were shopping the star defender, though it's still a big blow to lose a premier pass rusher with nothing to show for it until 2026.
He'll now hope to help lead a stout Jets defense alongside Quinnen Williams and Sauce Gardner as New York looks to make the playoffs for the first time since 2010.
The Eagles face a lot of questions with the 2024 NFL Draft just under a month away. Defensive line now becomes a need alongside finding a potential Jason Kelce replacement, and Philadelphia needs to nail this draft to bolster the roster around Jalen Hurts.
