After the craze of free agency ended, it was reported that the NFL was starting a tampering investigation to look into the Philadelphia Eagles' signing of Saquon Barkley in the offseason. Barkley's coach at Penn State, James Franklin had commented on Barkley's free agency decision, implying that the Eagles general manager Howie Roseman was talking to the star running back when they were not allowed to.

This kicked off an official league investigation, with some believing that the Eagles could face a penalty involving draft picks. In fact, Adam Schefter of ESPN reported earlier this week that both the Atlanta Falcons (who are facing investigation for the Kirk Cousins signing) and the Eagles would receive discipline from the league office before the draft.

However, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero provided good news for Eagles fans on Tuesday, reporting that the league investigation will not conclude this week, meaning that Philadelphia will keep all of their picks for the 2024 NFL Draft.

Eagles News: Philadelphia Not Facing Discipline Ahead of the NFL Draft

This is a big break for the Eagles. Roseman is reportedly looking to trade up in the draft and every pick will be crucial to be able to do that.

Philadelphia has eight picks in the draft, with three in the top 53. The two second-round picks they have will be especially important when they attempt to move up.

This gives the front office more ammunition to work with ahead of the draft. The Eagles are known to be targeting cornerbacks, offensive tackles, and defensive linemen early in the draft. They could either use all three of their early-round picks to address these needs or package a few of them to move up and draft a premium prospect in the top-half of the draft.

The Eagles are favored on FanDuel Sportsbook to take a cornerback with their first pick. (+115) Head over to FanDuel now to get in on the action before Philly is on the clock on Thursday.
