The Philadelphia Eagles are 2-2 after the first month of the season. It's been an up-and-down four weeks but they are spending Week 5 on a bye.

After the 33-16 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week, cornerback Darius Slay posted a tweet with his personal stats after being called out by fans.

Then to make matters worse, he went on Dallas Cowboy Micah Parsons' podcast, further irritating Eagles fans. Slay went on his own podcast, "Big Play Slay" on Tuesday and discussed all the drama around him.

On his podcast, Slay revealed that he and Parsons have been friends way before he even became a Cowboy. He did acknowledge why that would annoy some fans, though.

As for posting his stats, the 33-year-old said that was wrong for him to do but fans got under his skin for the first time.

"One thing I will take accountability for [is] posting my stats like that. I should not have did that. But y'all got under my skin a little bit. I’m not going to lie. Y’all got under my skin for the first time. That was kind of big for me right there, man."

The Mississippi State product added, "I try to be the best role model and leader that I can be. And to get attacked all the time, well not all the time, but for that game I’m like, ‘Gahh, dawg... So I apologize, Eagles fans. From the bottom of my heart, that won’t happen again. I do take accountability for my wrongs. That was wrong for me doing that. That was a kind of selfish act a little bit because I never been like that. That wasn’t it. That’s not my character."

Slay's play on the field in 2024 has been suspect. He has a 129.7 passer rating allowed. He's given up 11 catches on 15 targets for 97 yards and two touchdowns per PFF.

He does need to turn it up a notch and will have his first opportunity in Week 6 when the Eagles host the Cleveland Browns.
