The Philadelphia Eagles have been up and down since the start of the 2024 season. But the loss on Sunday had to be the most frustrating one yet.

The Eagles were manhandled by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, en route to a 33-16 loss. At one point in the contest, the Eagles were down 24-0 and had zero yards of offense.

Meanwhile, the defense couldn't stop a thing and the fans were pissed off about it. That negative feedback got to cornerback Darius Slay and he took the worst approach to respond.

Eagles News: Darius Slay Post and Deletes Tweet Following Week 4 Loss

Slay posted a tweet right after the game saying, "150 PBU's and counting! 28 picks an counting! 6x Pro Bowl. All-Pro. When you talk bad about me don't forget to mention the greatness of me too."

He then deleted that tweet and said, "Let me chill today! Lol I'm better than that." He also apologized to the fanbase but having a veteran leader answer like that after a pitiful performance isn't ideal. Especially when he struggled.

In the loss, Slay had nine tackles but gave up for four receptions and a score. He almost gave up two touchdowns but the receiver dropped the pass. What made the play worse was Slay celebrating the incompletion like he did anything to force that.

One clear thing is that Slay and the defense need to play better. They are currently 29th in the league in total defense (365.8), 28th in pass defense (237), and tied for 25th in points allowed (24).

Meanwhile, Slay has a 129.7 passer rating allowed in coverage. He needs to step up on the field and avoid going on social media after losses.
