The 2024 season is three months away and teams are starting to prepare. The Philadelphia Eagles went all-in this offseason to improve the team and they certainly achieved that.

They were able to add Saquon Barkley and Bryce Huff in free agency before upgrading their secondary in the NFL Draft with Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean. That didn't stop them for giving out monster extensions.

In a span of 10 days, Philadelphia gave A.J. Brown a three-year, $96 million deal while DeVonta Smith got a three-year, $75 million extension.

The Eagles seem ready to roll while their division rival down in Texas is going through some problems already.

CeeDee Lamb Is Skipping Cowboys Minicamps

Per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, WR CeeDee Lamb wasn't seen at the Cowboys' mandatory minicamps that officially started on June 4.

Lamb has been seeking a big-time extension as he's watched a bunch of other WRs around the league get paid.

This offseason alone Lamb has seen the following WRs get monster deals:

  • Justin Jefferson ($35 million a year) Four-year, $140 million, $110 fully guaranteed.
  • A.J. Brown ($32 million). Three-year, $96 million, $84 million fully guaranteed.
  • Amon-Ra St. Brown ($30.002 million). Four-year, $120 million, $77 million fully guaranteed.
  • Jaylen Waddle ($28.25 million). Three-year, $84.75 million, $76 million fully
  • guaranteed.

The market for wide receivers is exploding and Lamb is looking to cash in. In four seasons with the Cowboys, Lamb has recorded 395 receptions for 5,145 yards, and 32 touchdowns. His 2023 season was the best one of his career thus far, logging career-highs in catches (135), receiving yards (1,749), and receiving touchdowns (12).

The longer Jerry Jones waits, the higher the price goes up. Ja'Marr Chase is also up for an extension. Regardless, the Eagles certainly have a smile on their face as their biggest threat in the division is going through some friction with their best offensive player.
