There might not be a team who added more difference-makers this offseason than the Philadelphia Eagles.

After an embarrassing ending to the 2023 season, GM Howie Roseman made it his mission to retool the roster. Despite Jason Kelce and Fletcher Cox retiring, the Eagles have added Saquon Barkley, Chauncey Gardner-Johnson, Bryce Huff, and Devin White in free agency.

They continued to add playmakers in the NFL Draft with Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean.

Philadelphia is ready to hit the ground running but there are still some quality players on the market. One of those guys is safety Justin Simmons and the potential reason why he's still available has been disclosed.

NFL News: Justin Simmons Price Tag May Be Too High

According to Paul Kuharsky, Simmons' asking price remains high as the Tennesse Titans have inquired about him.

Simmons was slated to have an $18.5 million cap hit in 2024 with the Denver Broncos before they opted to release him.

Despite being 30 years old, the Boston College product is still an effective defender in the secondary. He will find the ball to create takeaways and be reliable in coverage.

One of the things working against him is the deep safety market. Eddie Jackson, Micah Hyde, Quandre Diggs, and Jayron Kearse are all available.

Teams aren't looking to shelve out a lot of money to a safety on the wrong side of 30. There isn't a safety over 30 years old who earns even $10 million a year. If his price tag comes down, teams may be ready to pounce.

The Eagles are constantly brought up due to the Vic Fangio connection. Those two overlapped in Denver when Fangio was the head coach from 2019-21.

In his eight-year career, Simmons has recorded 443 solo tackles, 64 pass deflections, and five forced fumbles. Furthermore, he's grabbed a league-high 30 interceptions since 2016.

He would be a great addition for the Birds at this point of the offseason but he'll have to bring down his asking price for the Eagles to be seriously interested.
