The Philadelphia 76ers are going to be aggressive this offseason after the 2023-24 season ended in disappointment once again.

Superstar Joel Embiid tore his meniscus on Jan. 30 against the Golden State Warriors which forced him to miss two months before returning in April.

Philadelphia ended up losing to the New York Knicks in the first round of the playoffs and is now looking to improve this team for a serious playoff run next year.

They have been reportedly linked to Paul George while also expressing interest in a dark horse trade candidate.

Now the latest news showcases that Philadelphia is open to a reunion with an All-Star player.

76ers News: Philadelphia Is Open To Bringing Back Jimmy Butler

The 76ers have made it clear they would like to add a third star next to Embiid and Tyrese Maxey. Although their No. 1 target is George, they are open to the idea of bringing back Jimmy Butler to the city of Brotherly Love.

Kurt Helin of NBCSports.com said, "Despite what Pat Riley said at his press conference, there are rumblings that Miami could be open to parting ways with Jimmy Butler rather than extending him. Reuniting Butler and Joel Embiid could work."

Butler played for the 76ers in the 2018-2019 season with Embiid and they formed a dynamic duo. During that season, those two guys developed a great friendship and could be looking to play together again.

Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports also added, "Butler may have been the All-Star whom Morey most often attempted to acquire in Houston."

In 55 games with the 76ers, Butler averaged 18.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, four assists, and 1.8 steals per game.

They also made it to the Eastern Conference Semifinals where they fell to the Toronto Raptors at the hands of the infamous Kawhi Leonard game winner in Game 7.

The 34-year-old may not be the same player he was five years ago but Butler is still an alpha who knows when to turn it on in the playoffs.

A trio of Embiid, Butler, and Maxey could be something very enticing for the 76ers.
