The biggest focus in the lead up to the Philadelphia Eagles' Week 2 game versus the Atlanta Falcons has been on the health of star wide receiver AJ Brown. The dominant wideout was a surprise addition to the team's injury report late this week, putting his stauts for the Falcons game in jeopardy.

There was still some hope Brown would suit up, but that dream has officially been put to rest.

The Eagles announced on Sunday that Brown was downgraded to out for Monday Night Football. This decision comes right after Brown participated in a workout to test his injury, so it's clear the WR hadn't progressed enough to suit up.

This is obviously a big blow to Philadelphia's offense. The connection between Brown and Jalen Hurts has transformed this unit, and the two close friends put together another great performance in the season opener, as Brown torched the Green Bay Packers' secondary for 119 yards and a touchdown.

While Brown's value can never be fully replaced, this is why GM Howie Roseman went out and traded for a true No. 3 before Week 1, landing former Penn State standout Jahan Dotson. Though Dotson went reception-less against Green Bay, he's a proven target, as evidenced by his back-to-back seasons with at least 500 yards.

Dotson also is clear playmaker in scoring range, racking up a whopping 11 touchdowns in his first two NFL campaigns as only a supporting receiver. That could help him seamlessly transition to the WR2 role while DeVonta Smith steps up in Brown's place on Monday.

Even down their top offensive threat, between Smith, Dotson, Hurts, Saquon Barkley and Dallas Goedert, the Eagles should still be able to take down a Falcons team that managed just 10 points in their opener.
