A.J. Brown Already Proving Contract Extension Was Right Move By Eagles
By Jovan Alford
The Philadelphia Eagles made a monumental splash ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft last week, inking star wide receiver A.J. Brown to a blockbuster three-year, $96 million contract extension.
Eagles fans were surprised to see the team pull up the Brinks truck for Brown, who still had a couple of years left on his current deal he signed with the team in 2022. However, Philadelphia made sure to lock in Brown for the foreseeable future as he’s had an incredible first two years with the organization.
The veteran wide receiver was seen at the Eagles’ rookie minicamp on Friday as the coaches got an up-close look at the new class of rookies. He wasn’t the only veteran at camp as Pro Bowl left tackle Jordan Mailata was also in attendance.
Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni told reporters Friday that Brown and Mailata were at camp to meet the new guys and help in various ways, per Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer.
If you are the Eagles, it’s great to see Brown taking his time to go to the practice facility and help the new guys prepare for their first NFL practices.
Brown and Mailata didn’t have to show up, but it shows the type of culture Philadelphia has created as they try to bounce back from a disappointing 2023 season.
