2. Mekhi Becton, Offensive Tackle/Guard

As mentioned earlier, the Eagles have their starting positions set at tackle with Jordan Mailata and Lane Johnson. They're one of the best starting duos in the entire NFL. On the bench, they have Fred Johnson and Darian Kinnard who can play if needed. There's also undrafted rookie Anim Dankwah who will do all he can to prove he belongs in the NFL.

Thrown into the mix will be Mekhi Becton who was once seen as a sure-fire prospect. Taken 11th overall out of Louisville by the New York Jets in 2020, Becton started 13 games in 14 appearances as a rookie. He played well that season, finishing 31st in the NFL at the position according to Pro Football Focus.

From there, things went in the wrong direction.

Becton suffered a knee injury early in the 2021 season and it was revealed later there was cartilage damage. He was moved to right tackle when he returned in 2022 but missed the entire regular season when he was dealt another blow. This time, it was an avulsion fracture on his right kneecap.

He was able to return in 2023 and played in 16 games, starting each of them. However, his performance had dropped off and the Jets didn't re-sign him in the offseason. He landed in Philly and is attempting to make the team as either a tackle or guard. Early impressions from camp don't paint a pretty picture as Becton struggled to get through camp without becoming sick.

That alone isn't a reason to move on but he remains a long shot to make the team due to production and health. Knee injuries will remain a concern for Becton, who is listed 6-foot-7 and 363 pounds. That much size on knees that are already injured is going to be an issue.
