5 Realistic Eagles Trade Targets at the Deadline
Everybody knows that Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman is never going to be satisfied with the quality of his roster. He's going to turn over every stone and make certain that he has a true contender week after week in pursuit of a Super Bowl. Especially after losing in last year's Super Bowl, you can rest assured knowing that Roseman is working tirelessly to upgrade his team ahead of the October 31 NFL trade deadline.
In fact, we've already seen his aggressiveness on display. The Eagles just recently traded for All-Pro safety Kevin Byard of the Tennessee Titans, and before that, they had already gone out and signed veteran cornerback Bradley Roby and legendary wide receiver Julio Jones to give this roster tremendous depth.
What trade possibilities could end up being realistic moving forward for the Eagles, who are still armed with a bunch of 2024 NFL Draft picks as well as an aggressive GM who is always ready to deal? Let's look at a handful of possibilities.
1. Derrick Henry, RB, Titans
The idea of Derrick Henry going to the Philadelphia Eagles was really summed up perfectly with this one post on Twitter (X):
It's truly great work, and an accurate summary of how Derrick Henry might be feeling with AJ Brown looking like a legitimate Offensive MVP candidate and Kevin Byard now getting traded to his family's favorite team.
Henry has put in some really good work for the Titans, and the emergence of young Tyjae Spears could be Henry's ticket out of Nashville. Could the pipeline between the Eagles and Titans remain through the deadline with Derrick Henry joining his now-former teammates?
I think it's possible. You wouldn't have to do nearly as many tush push or brotherly shove plays if you had Derrick Henry on the roster, right? Henry is a luxury addition for anyone at this year's trade deadline if the Titans are even willing to move off of him, and I could see the Eagles justifying that kind of luxury.
