The Philadelphia Eagles are soaring high after opening the 2024 NFL season with a win over the Green Bay Packers in Brazil. As Jalen Hurts & Co. look to keep the momentum coming against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 2, it's a good time to check in on how some former Eagles are doing.

Some ex-Philadelphia players found new homes in the offseason and are already thriving in their fresh environments. Conversely, certain former Eagles are still struggling to make a roster.

Keeping that in mind, here are four former Eagles who are still free agents in Week 2.

1. Shaquille Leonard, LB

After the Indianapolis Colts released Shaquille Leonard in November, the Eagles didn't waste any time signing the former NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year, signing him for the remainder of the season just a few weeks later.

The Eagles' linebacker room desperately needed a boost at the time and Leonard helped with the solution. The ex-South Carolina State product tallied 12 solo tackles and a sack in five regular-season games before being inactive in the franchise's lone playoff game.

As good as Leonard was in his prime, being a healthy scratch in a crucial playoff matchup isn't a good look. The fact that he's no longer playing at an All-Pro level also limits the interest when it comes to potential suitors. As much as the 29-year-old believes he can still be an effective contributor, his best days are likely in the rearview.

If a team runs into linebacker injuries, it's possible that Leonard could receive a late-season call. Otherwise, his job prospects don't look promising going forward.
