2. Mekhi Becton, Offensive Tackle/Guard

A first-round pick from Louisville in 2020, Mekhi Becton had a hot start to his NFL career with the New York Jets. As a rookie, he was one of the top-rated tackles in the league and appeared to have a bright future.

Injuries took that from him as he appeared in just one game in 2021 and none in 2022 due to two separate knee issues. When he returned in 2023 with the Jets, Becton wasn't the same player. He struggled in both pass protection and run blocking and was tied for first in the NFL in sacks allowed (12) and second in penalties among offensive linemen (18).

New York declined the fifth-year option on his rookie deal during his time away and that led to him hititng the open market this year. There weren't many suitors and in the end, the Eagles gave him an opportunity to prove he can turn things around.

Becton will have a hard time making the roster but to help him show he deserves a spot, Philly allowed him to get wirk at guard as well as tackle. He would be a massive interior player at 6-foot-7 and 363 pounds but his mobility has been dampened by the knee injuries so this might be a career-saving move.

Unfortunately, the fifth-year O-lineman hasn't done much to generate news. That is, outside of throwing up several times when training camp began. He's continued to deal with illness and knee issues as he's missed several practices.
