Training camp is underway for the Philadelphia Eagles as they look to reclaim the top spot in the NFC East.

They had the division in hand one year ago but a 1-5 finish in the regular season — coupled by a strong end to the year from the Dallas Cowboys — proved to be their undoing. They made changes to their coaching staff and got aggressive in free agency ahead of 2024.

Now as they prepare for the new season, let's take a look at their first couple of weeks of training camp and identify three players who seemed to have gone missing.

3. Kenneth Gainwell, Running Back

Kenneth Gainwell has been a productive backup over the past three seasons. He had 544 yards and six touchdowns as a rookie and in year two, put up 409 yards and four more touchdowns before gaining 181 yards in the postseason. In 2023, he had 547 total yards but his touchdown total fell to just two.

Heading into his fourth season in the league, his spot as the backup could be in jeopardy and there's not much being said about him currently.

He did burn past Nakobe Dean for a touchdown catch on one play during practice but outside of that, there's been little said of the backup running back. Instead, everyone seems to be discussing Will Shipley.

The fourth-round pick from Clemson has been making the most of his opportunity. He stood out during minicamps and head coach Nick Sirianni has been singing his praises during training camp. Shipley has especially turned heads as a receiver, something that could help him surpass Gainwell for the RB2 spot.
