3 Eagles on the Naughty List (& 2 on the Nice List) This Christmas
By Thomas Erbe
The Offensive Unit Has Been Anything But Nice
Outside of any short-yardage down, the Eagles have been anywhere from completely stoppable to just average at best. They can use the "Brotherly Shove" at will to make anything happen on the line-to-gain, but have limited success outside of that.
It is now a proven fact the opposition has a good idea of what is coming before it happens. The person calling the plays is at fault for this, sure. But the ones executing the plays deserve just as much fault.
Anything from missed assignments to staring down receivers to running the wrong routes are all things we have seen out of this Eagles offense. We have seen a massive lack of ball control on the ground and inaccuracy through the air. There are guys on this team that are way too talented (and paid way too much) for these mistakes to be as consistent as they are.
We've seen glimpses of greatness from individuals and some great comebacks early in the season. We know this team has heart and wants to win. But these last few weeks should be a wakeup call to the unit to do better and they still look like they're just sleepwalking most of the time.
