Philadelphia Eagles fans know Howie Roseman is a threat to make a big move at any time, and Thursday was no exception. Philadelphia has reportedly agreed to trade for Washington Commanders wide receiver (and former Penn State standout) Jahan Dotston, who immediately gives the Eagles their best WR3 of the AJ Brown-Devonta Smith era.

A clear upgrade at a position of need, however, will also likely spell the end for some players who were hoping to see extra targets prior to Dotson's arrival. With that in mind, here are three Philadelphia contributors who are now on the chopping block after this move.

1. Parris Campbell, WR

One obvious candidate following the Dotson acquisition is veteran wideout Parris Campbell.

Philly signed the experienced pass-catcher in free agency to slot in alongside Brown and Smith, with hopes he'd return to his 2022 form (623 yards, 3 touchdowns) after a down 2023 campaign.

Given Campbell's previous success in a supporting role, he entered training camp as the frontrunner for the WR3 job. Yet a groin injury early on forced the veteran to sit out a number of practices, clearing the way for others behind him to make their case for the job.

Rookie Johnny Wilson made the most of Campbell's absence, as the youngster pulled ahead in the WR3 race and may have been the choice if the Dotston trade wasn't made. Even so, his presence as someone who could step up if anything happens to Dotson makes Campbell expendable, especially since the latter hasn't wowed in camp.

With Wilson just starting his career and Dotson still having two more years on his rookie deal, plus a team option for 2026, the Eagles' supporting receiving cast is set for the foreseeable future. That makes it easy to say goodbye to the 27-year-old Campbell.
