3 Eagles Most Likely to Be Traded Before Roster Cutdown Day
By Randy Gurzi
1. Kenny Pickett, Quarterback
It wouldn't be the first time someone was traded twice in the same year but it would be quite the story for Kenny Pickett, who was a first-round pick in 2022.
A two-year starter for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pickett was aided by a stellar defense as they were 14-10 with him as the starter. While they were winning, his numbers weren't impressive. Pickett completed 62.6 percent of his passing attempts for 4,474 yards with 13 touchdowns and 13 picks.
The Steelers were looking for more this offseason and felt they might have that in Russell Wilson. Pickett wasn't a fan of this move and ended up being sent to the Eagles. Since joining the team, he's had his share of struggles and was rumored to be a potential cut candidate.
In the two preseason games he's appeared in, Pickett hasn't done enough to quiet the concerns. Sure, his completion percentage looks fine but he had 89 yards on 22 attempts against the Baltimore Ravens and 67 yards on 13 attempts against New England. In all, that's just 156 yards on 35 passing attempts.
Meanwhile, Tanner McKee led them to a comeback win over the Patriots. Even his poor statistical showing in Week 1 of the preseason was better than it appeared.
In the end, McKee might end up winning the No. 2 spot behind Jalen Hurts. Pickett wasn't thrilled losing his spot to Wilson in Pittsburgh, so being pushed down the depth chart in Philly could lead to him being sent to another team once again.
