2. Tanner McKee, Quarterback

The quarterback room is suddenly crowded in Philadelphia.

Marcus Mariota left in free agency, choosing to join the Washington Commanders. With him gone, Tanner McKee was in line to be the No. 2 quarterback. That changed in a hurry when the Eagles surprisingly traded for Kenny Pickett.

A former first-round selection, Pickett led the Pittsburgh Steelers to a 14-10 record in two seasons. His stats weren't overwhelming but he led them to six comeback wins and had seven game-winning drives.

This offseason, Pittsburgh decided to bring in Russell Wilson, frustrating Pickett in the process. They traded him away and landed Justin Fields, giving the Eagles an experienced backup.

Philadelphia didn't stop there as they also signed Will Grier. A third-round pick for the Carolina Panthers in 2019, Grier spent time with the Dallas Cowboys and New England Patriots. He's always played well in the preseason but has no touchdowns and four picks in the regular season — all back in 2019 with Carolina.

Despite his lack of regular season success, Grier could push McKee for the third spot. That would be a frustrating fall for McKee, who hoped to move up the depth chart when Mariota left.
