Nick Sirianni's A.J. Brown Update Casts Major Doubt on Status vs. Commanders
The Philadelphia Eagles have a huge division matchup with the Washington Commanders on Sunday. An Eagles victory would lock up a division title, while a loss would push that back at least a week. Heading into the game, one Eagles star unexpectedly popped up on the injury report.
After Thursday's practice, A.J. Brown was listed on the injury report with a designation of rest/knee. Head coach Nick Sirianni was asked about this during his Friday press conference. According to EJ Smith of the Philadelphia Inquirer, Sirianni was cagey and didn't want to answer the question, but after being pushed a few times, he said, " He was limited."
Eagles News: A.J. Brown Unexpectedly Pops up on the Injury Report
While Brown did hurt his ankle last Sunday against the Steelers, this seems to be a different issue. So,
Sirianni being unwilling to answer questions about the injury isn't a good look.
Sirianni has already dealt with fan scrutiny this season after being caught arguing with an Eagles fan at the end of the fame. Not sharing news on an injury that could drastically change the passing game on Sunday could get fans riled up with Sirianni again.
Although Brown and Jalen Hurts have had their differences over the past few weeks, Brown is still a game changer. The last time the Eagles played the Commanders, Brown had five catches for 65 yards. While those aren't earth-shattering numbers, Brown is definitely capable of going off against the Commanders defense.
Despite missing three games this season, Brown still leads the team in receiving yards (946) with 56 catches and five touchdowns. After saying the passing game needed improvement Brown finished with eight catches for 110 yards and one touchdown in the win over the Steelers.
Brown's status for Sunday's game is something everyone should keep an eye on.
