The entire offensive unit put on a show during the Philadelphia Eagles' dominant win over the Washington Commanders on Sunday. The Eagles completely lit up the Commanders' defense, scoring seven rushing touchdowns and putting up 55 points.

Despite being questionable to play before the NFC championship game, Jalen Hurts had one of his most impressive individual performances, finding the end zone three times with his legs and throwing a TD pass to A.J. Brown.

Hurts' comments after the game were perhaps more notable than his performance on the field. In his postgame press conference, Hurts said the team "let [him] out of [his] straightjacket a little bit". This tongue-in-cheek comment was meant to imply that the game plan usually restrains what he is capable of doing on the field.

Head coach Nick Sirianni replied to Hurts on Tuesday, per NBC Sports Philadelphia's Dave Zangaro. He reportedly said that Hurts "was having fun after the game" and added that it is a plus that the team can win in different ways.

Nick Sirianni Responds to Jalen Hurts' Postgame Comments

Sirianni has the right response to the situation. Hurts' comments were obviously innocuous and don't need to be blown out of proportion heading into the Super Bowl.

If anything, it is a positive sign that Hurts is feeling healthy and good enough to run the ball and play more freely. In the previous Super Bowl matchup against the Chiefs, Hurts did serious damage in the run game, rushing for 70 yards and three touchdowns. He notably had a costly fumble in the second quarter that was returned for a touchdown, but the Eagles obviously need him as a dual threat to beat the Chiefs.

The fact that Hurts and the Eagles' offense is trending up before facing Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo is excellent news.
