The NFL coaching circle received a shake-up earlier this week when the New York Jets fired head coach Robert Saleh following a 2-3 start to the 2024 season. Saleh was the first coach to be fired this season and fans are now wondering who could be next.

The Philadelphia Eagles' Nick Sirianni is one head coach whose future is up in the air. The 43-year-old coach found himself in hot water following last season's second-half collapse. Fast forward to now when the Eagles' 2-2 record through four games isn't doing him any favors.

Earlier this week, Sirianni opened up about if Saleh's firing has made him question his own fate.

Eagles News: Sirianni Not Worried About Job Following Saleh Firing

"Obviously wish [Robert Saleh] nothing but the best, but my mind is only set on how do [the Eagles] get better," Sirianni said during Wednesday's press conference, per ESPN's Tim McManus. "I know you can probably say, ‘That’s coach talk.’ I’m not [expletive] you. That’s how I live."

On one hand, you can't blame Sirianni for his response. Head coaches are supposed to sound confident and the last thing he was going to do is come saying that he's worried about his job. That would send the wrong message to both his players and Eagles fans.

On the other hand, it's possible that Sirianni is still worried about his future behind closed doors.

Despite a slew of offseason moves, the Eagles haven't looked like Super Bowl contenders this season. The offense and defense have left much to be desired, resulting in a minus-10 point differential on the season.

Things are even worse when you consider that the Eagles are 3-8 in their last 11 games dating back to Week 13 of the 2023 season. Even though Sirianni still owns a 65.5% win percentage during his Philadelphia tenure, it isn't difficult to see that he's beginning to trend in the wrong direction.

Hopefully, Sirianni can get the Eagles back on track as they come off their bye week. General manager Howie Roseman put in a lot of effort toward constructing this year's roster and it's time for Sirianni to figure out how to capitalize on his embarrassment of riches.

Fortunately, things are looking more than promising for Sirianni & Co. this weekend. FanDuel Sportsbook is currently listing the Eagles as the 9.5-point home favorite over the Cleveland Browns in Week 6.
