The Philadelphia Eagles are 3-2 to start the season but their overall performance has been less than convincing. Head coach Nick Sirianni has been receiving a ton of criticism, especially for the team's underwhelming offensive production.

Sometimes, however, the criticisms can get out of hand when dealing with Philadelphia sports fans and the media.

After the Week 6 win over the Browns, Sirianni brought his children to the press conference. This was unfairly criticized by some as a cheap way to garner sympathy and avoid tough questions by a head coach on the presumptive hot seat.

Sirianni addressed the criticisms on Tuesday in his guest appearance on the WIP Morning Show. The 43-year-old head coach didn't back down and defended his decision to have his family with him on the podium.

Sirianni Defends His Post-Game Decision in Week 6

One can easily criticize Sirianni for his playcalling. The offense has been disappointing all year and the fact that the Eagles haven't been able to score in five straight first quarters is unacceptable. However, criticizing a father for sharing a joyful moment with his kids is way too far.

"After a win, my kids love going up on that press conference with me...I've learned in this game that it's hard to win and you have to appreciate the wins. My only intention is my love for my family and wanting them to share that moment with me."

It's great to see Sirianni doubling down on his decision and standing behind his family. Let's hope he gets to share more moments like this with his family all season.
