The Philadelphia Eagles are the defending champs and will have all eyes on them in 2025. The Eagles have seen some changes on the roster and front office, which continued on Monday.

It was reported by Jeff McLane that former New York Jets GM Joe Douglas will be returning to the Eagles. Douglas is slated to be in a senior scouting role for Philadelphia. He worked for the Eagles from 2016-2019, where he led the scouting department before leaving to become the Jets GM in 2019.

Things didn't pan out in the Big Apple, where Douglas had a 32-68 record in New York. Now that he's back in Philadelphia, he could look to bring in some former players from the Jets with him.

One player that comes to mind is safety Chuck Clark. In March 2023, Douglas shipped a seventh-round pick to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for Clark.

He missed the 2023 season with a torn ACL but was able to suit up in 2024 for Gang Green. In 12 games, he finished with 69 total tackles, two pass deflections, and one forced fumble. He is more of a downhill thumper and could provide Philadelphia with a depth option at the position.

The Eagles traded C.J. Gardner-Johnson to the Houston Texans this offseason, so they opened up a void at that position. They still have Reed Blankenship and added Andrew Mukuba in the 2025 NFL draft.

That leaves Sydney Brown, Tristin McCollum, and Lewis Cine as depth options behind these guys. The idea of adding someone like Clark could be interesting, considering that Douglas is in the fold.

Over 108 career games (75 starts), Clark registered 453 total tackles, nine TFLs, six forced fumbles, and five interceptions.

At this point in his career, Clark could be a nice option as a backup, and due to his connection with Douglas, the Eagles could become a choice for the 2025 season.
