Thursday marked the end of the Philadelphia Eagles' 2025 organized team activities (OTAs). All signs indicate that this year's practices went off without a hitch, putting the Eagles in a good spot to capitalize on the momentum stemming from their Super Bowl 59 victory.
While some returning names have received a good chunk of the OTA attention, some of Philadelphia's offseason additions found their own ways to stick out from the pack. That includes a new Eagles cornerback, who appears to be on pace for a big role this fall.
Eagles CB Adoree' Jackson's Signing is Paying Off Big Time in Philly
The Eagles signed a plethora of veterans to one-year contracts shortly after free agency opened, including cornerback Adoree' Jackson. Philadelphia desperately needed CB depth after releasing Darius Slay and James Bradberry, and the hope was that the veteran ballhawk would make the duo's departure easier to swallow.
Having said that, Jackson needed this chance just as badly as the Eagles need him. The former 2017 first-rounder was stuck in a backup role with the rival New York Giants last season, and joining the defending Super Bowl Champions offered the perfect opportunity for a bounce-back attempt.
Fortunately, it hasn't taken Jackson much time to garner some offseason praise. NBC Sports Philadelphia's John Clark reported on May 28 that the former USC Trojan was already "getting a lot of the first team reps opposite Quinyon Mitchell," which is fairly significant for a new face.
If he can extend that success into the mandatory minicamp and training camp practices, Sports Illustrated's John McMullen is fairly confident that the Eagles' offseason addition "is going to have a role" in the secondary this fall.
Philadelphia's CB room needed leadership after Slay and Bradberry were sent packing, so let's hope Jackson continues to live up to expectations. A strong performance from the veteran disruptor could go a long way to helping the Eagles capitalize on their +750 odds (T-1st) to win Super Bowl 60 on FanDuel Sportsbook.
