The Philadelphia Eagles are still searching for their next offensive coordinator, but the options continue to dwindle. On Tuesday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the Tennessee Titans are set to hire Brian Daboll as their offensive coordinator, removing his name from consideration.

This news comes after the Buffalo Bills hired Joe Brady as their head coach, elevating him from his post as offensive coordinator. And with Daboll out of the running in Buffalo, he decided to coach Cam Ward rather than coming to the Eagles, who had him as their top target.

Eliot Shorr-Parks of 94WIP.com revealed that nine of the 15 candidates that were linked to Philadelphia were off the market. Jim Bob Cooter, Josh Grizzard, Sean Mannion, Frank Smith, Jerrod Johnson, and Matt Nagy are the names left on the list. And as the list shrinks, the idea of Nagy being the next offensive coordinator only becomes more likely.

Odds of Matt Nagy Becoming Next Eagles OC Increased

And this isn't ideal, as guys like Mike McDaniel, Bobby Slowik, and Daboll were on the market before heading elsewhere. There has been a lot of turnover by the Eagles at the offensive coordinator position. This is the fifth straight year Philadelphia is looking to fill this role.

Despite there being a bunch of weapons on this team one year after winning a Super Bowl, it appears that candidates aren't rushing to take this gig. Kevin Patullo and Brian Johnson were the last two offensive coordinators in Philadelphia who didn't have experience calling plays. And that didn't work out, as they were both fired.

That may push the franchise to head down a different route, and Nagy would provide them with a coach who has done it before. Nagy reportedly told Chiefs head coach Andy Reid before the 2025 season that he would be moving on at the conclusion of his contract in hopes of landing a head-coaching or play-calling opportunity.

Nagy returned to the Chiefs in 2022 before getting the OC title in 2023. Despite that, he called plays during his time as the Bears' head coach from 2018 to 2021.

While he has experience making those calls, the Chiefs' offense didn't improve with him. During the 2023 season, Kansas City ranked ninth in total yards and 15th in points. And things continued to trend in the opposite direction. The Chiefs were 16th in yards and 15th in scoring in 2024. Then, during the 2025 campaign, Kansas City was 24th in total offense and 21st in scoring.

The results haven't been too inspiring, but with the options on the market, Nagy is likely at the top of the Eagles' list of OC candidates.
