Massive Eagles Injury News Emerges to Begin Super Bowl Week
The Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs are the final two teams left. They will be competing for Super Bowl 59 on Sunday, in a rematch of Super Bowl LVII.
The Eagles are rolling, winners of five straight games dating back to the regular season. Despite being in the Super Bowl, the Eagles had some injury concerns going into this game.
Zach Berman of PHLY was a guest on the Anthony Gargano Show on Monday and discussed the injuries that Philadelphia is facing. In his appearance, he stated that if the Eagles played a game this past Sunday, every starter would have played and there wouldn't be a doubt about that. This is music to the ears of Eagles fans.
Eagles News: Zach Berman Reveals Eagles Starters Will Suit up in Super Bowl
The Eagles injury report going into the Super Bowl was pretty long, giving fans a cause for concern. LB Zack Baun (groin), RB Saquon Barkley (rest), WR A.J. Brown (rest), G Landon Dickerson (knee), RB Kenneth Gainwell (concussion/knee), TE Dallas Goedert (rest/ankle), C/G Cam Jurgens (back), and WR DeVonta Smith (hamstring) are all listed on the injury report.
The biggest question marks were around Dickerson and Jurgens. Dickerson started at center in the NFC Championship Game after Jurgens was an emergency option at center after he suffered a back injury.
Dickerson then hurt his knee and Jurgens came in as relief. There was serious doubt that they would be ready to go but the extra time off did wonders.
Berman added that Dickerson and Jurgens wouldn't have been listed as questionable either and would have played.
The Eagles took their top players off their feet last week as they implemented the game plan. That decision has paid massive dividends and gave these guys the time off that they needed.
Philadelphia will go into this game relatively healthy and that's huge, going up against the defending Super Bowl champions.
