Hundreds of players, veterans and rookies alike, saw their NFL dreams/journeys put on hold as all 32 teams had to cut their rosters down from 90 to 53 players.

The Philadelphia Eagles had to make several tough cuts over the last few days ahead of the 4 pm ET deadline on Tuesday. For some of the players who got cut, they will find their way back to Philadelphia on the practice squad.

Meanwhile, other players will hope to be picked up by another team in the hopes of making their 53-man roster. One veteran lineman, who signed with the Eagles in the offseason, is re-signing with a team he played for in 2024 after getting cut by Philadelphia.

Veteran Lineman Kendall Lamm Heading Back to Miami After Release by Eagles

On Wednesday, Barry Jackson reported that the Miami Dolphins re-signed former Eagles offensive lineman Kendall Lamm.

The 33-year-old Lamm spent the last three years with the Dolphins before signing a one-year deal with the Eagles in March. Before the 2025 NFL Draft, the veteran offensive tackle looked like he could be a possible depth option on Philadelphia’s o-line.

However, after the Eagles spent draft capital on the o-line, Lamm was facing an uphill battle to make the 53-man roster as we get closer to training camp and preseason.

In the days leading up to the roster cutdown deadline, the NFL veteran gave Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer a few telling quotes about his decision to join the Eagles after back surgery and being comfortable with whatever move the team made.

Now Lamm will return to the Dolphins, where he’s appeared in 32 games (15 starts) over the last two seasons. Last year, the 33-year-old Lamm spent most of his time at right tackle (441 snaps), but also played a little bit on the left side (70).

According to Pro Football Focus, the veteran tackle had a stellar pass-blocking grade (82.1, good for 10th among 140 qualified tackles), as he gave up no sacks and was only penalized once.

However, Lamm left much to be desired in the run blocking department with a 53.7 grade (108th among 140 tackles). It will be interesting to see what his new ex-Eagle can do in his return with the Dolphins, given that he still doesn’t feel completely like himself.
