The Philadelphia Eagles have a big matchup on Sunday as they welcome the Pittsburgh Steelers to Lincoln Financial Field for state bragging rights.

The Eagles are trying to win their 10th-straight game after escaping with a 22-16 win over the Carolina Panthers last week. However, for most of the week, the attention hasn’t been on the actual game this weekend, but on the comments star wide receiver A.J. Brown made last week about the offense.

Brown’s comments set social media and sports radio ablaze across Philadelphia, which led to teammate Brandon Graham speaking out on Monday on his radio show. Graham’s comments didn’t help the situation as fans were trying to read deeper into what he meant.

On Wednesday, Eagles star quarterback Jalen Hurts spoke to the media for the first time since Brown’s comments and set the record about his relationship with the star receiver.

"Sometimes things change as dynamics change. But for him, he knows I have a lot of love for him — just like I got a lot of love for all these guys here. Ultimately, he’s a guy that’s a competitor. He wants to win. He damn sure wants the ball. And he wants to make an impact in the game. And I respect that."

Most fans will harp on the “Sometimes things change as dynamics change” quote. However, it was good to see Hurts go to bat for Brown and acknowledge that the star wide receiver wants to compete, win, and make an impact.

The star wide receiver spoke with reporters on Wednesday and pointed out that his relationship with Hurts is good, per John Clark of NBC Sports Philadelphia. Hurts said the same thing about his relationship with Brown.

The Eagles’ passing game was not up to par last week against the Carolina Panthers, but Philly still came out on top. Hurts wasn’t at his best and missed Brown a couple of times.

At the same time, we shouldn’t expect that to be a common theme over the last few weeks of the regular season. The Steelers’ defense will look to shut down Saquon Barkley, which means it will be up to Hurts, Brown, and the rest of the Eagles’ passing game to create big plays.
