Jalen Hurts Gives Update on Ankle Injury After Eagles' Week 10 Win
By Jovan Alford
Heading into Sunday’s Week 10 clash against the Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles star QB Jalen Hurts was the topic of conversation.
In Friday’s presser, head coach Nick Sirianni revealed Hurts was dealing with an ankle injury, which contradicted what he said on Wednesday about the star quarterback having a rest day. For a quarterback with Hurts’ skillset, you never want to hear about an ankle injury as those can linger if serious.
That said, Hurts still started for the Eagles on Sunday and played well, leading Philadelphia to an impressive 34-6 win over the Cowboys. Hurts showed no signs of his ankle bothering him as he had 56 rushing yards and two touchdowns on the ground.
The dual-threat quarterback also completed 14-of-20 passes for 202 yards two touchdowns and an interception.
After Sunday’s win over the Cowboys, Hurts gave an update on his ankle. “I’m fine. Did it look like it was hurting today? (h/t Zach Berman of PHLY).
It’s good to see Hurts is fine after playing on his ankle. The Eagles can’t rest on their laurels as they have a quick turnaround in Week 11. Philadelphia will return home to face the Washington Commanders on Thursday night.
The Commanders have a good defensive front that will be looking to get after Hurts as we saw the Cowboys dial up the pressure on Sunday. Dallas had five sacks against Hurts, which all came in the first half. But if his ankle is fine, Hurts should be able to make plays on the ground.
