The Philadelphia Eagles' first 53-man roster is locked into place, with fans shifting attention to this week's season opener against the Dallas Cowboys. Not only does Philly get to play a demoralized unit that just traded Micah Parsons, but the Cowboys will be forced to sit and watch as the Eagles raise yet another banner. Something that Philly's rival continues to have zero chance of doing, thanks to a bungling owner and poor coaching.

Still, there are a handful of minor concerns with the current Eagles' roster. The most obvious potential offender is new secondary depth. Darius Slay and C.J. Gardner-Johnson have both found new landing spots, leaving the Eagles with questions at the final corner and second safety spots. With this in mind, there is no debating that Kelee Ringo is under immense pressure.

Eagles Struggling Corner Kelee Ringo Given First Shot at Starting Role

It isn't a hot take to point out Ringo won the role more so based on lack of other options and less on his one merits. Ringo was drafted in the 4th round back in 2023 and is a rare example of a Georgia alum who hasn't worked well within Philly's defensive scheme. There are a lot of remaining questions about whether or not the corner can be trusted with a starting role.

His starting spot is already in question before the franchise has played a single snap. This leaves a very real possibility that one big play or major mistake is all that it will take to earn the former Bulldog a spot on the bench. Ringo must start out the year hot if he wants to lock down the role and leave no questions about his future.

Early struggles will force Philly to pivot in another direction, with Adoree' Jackson and Mac McWilliams both clear options. It is already up for debate how big a role Ringo is going to have to start the year. It seems that the corner is going to be sharing some reps with Jackson, and the more consistent option is locking down the job.

Still, Ringo has been given a chance at the starting role based on his tenure and the past home runs the Eagles have had drafting from Georgia. It will give Philly fans a final answer as to whether or not Ringo has a future with the franchise, or if it is time to turn the page.

Early returns have leaned towards the latter, with Ringo having a frustrating tendency to be a step behind a big play in the worst possible moments. The flip side of this is the fact that the defender has shown a nose for the football and the ability to play physical with any matchup. It demands that the Eagles allow the situation to play out and find exactly what the potential is for the defensive back. No question, the first weeks of the 2025 season are very quickly going to determine Ringo's future and whether or not it is on the field or riding the bench.
