The Philadelphia Eagles are 5-2 on the season and have a three-game win streak going. They have found a nice groove lately and can thank their stars for returning to action.

Both A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith had to miss games after suffering injuries earlier in the year. They returned to action in Week 6 and helped kickstart the win streak.

Thankfully they have these guys to rely on. The Eagles traded for Jahan Dotson in August. Philadelphia gave the Washington Commanders a third-round pick and two seventh-round picks in exchange for Dotson and a fifth-rounder.

With each passing day, the trade continues to age poorly and on Tuesday, the deal looked even worse.

NFL News: Diontae Johnson Was Traded to the Baltimore Ravens

Per Adam Schefter, the Carolina Panthers are trading receiver Diontae Johnson to the Baltimore Ravens for a fifth and sixth-round pick. In 2024, Johnson has logged 30 receptions for 357 yards and three touchdowns.

We have also seen Davante Adams and Amari Cooper get traded for third-round picks as well. Those two All-Pro playmakers are worth the draft compensation.

That same statement can't be said for Dotson. The Penn State product is second on the team in total snaps (286) but only has six catches for 35 yards. He's been a non-factor for this team. The Eagles could have used that same draft pick to acquire a better playmaker if they held onto the selection.

The Ravens essentially got Johnson for pennies on the dollar. That was a great move for them and helped raise their floor.

It's great that the Eagles have Brown and Smith as the 1-2 punch cause the Dotson acquisition was a miss.
