As the Philadelphia Eagles are gearing up for the Super Bowl against the Kansas City Chiefs, they are getting a ton of support from unexpected corners of the NFL world. The latest to join the Eagles bandwagon is a hated NFC rival, the San Francisco 49ers' Deebo Samuel.

In his appearance on Bleacher Report, the star wide receiver admitted that he will be rooting for the Eagles in the Super Bowl.

Deebo Samuel Joins the Eagles Bandwagon Before the Super Bowl

Perhaps this is understandable by Samuel. The 49ers lost two Super Bowls against the Chiefs in Samuel's time there. Plus, no one outside of Kansas City really wants the Chiefs to win their third straight Lombardi Trophy. With the majority of the NFL and the fans rooting for the Eagles against the Chiefs potentially accomplishing a historic three-peat, Samuel's take is reasonable.

At the same time, given the history between the 49ers and the Eagles, Samuel saying this publicly may be surprising to some.

Two years ago, the Eagles defeated San Francisco in the NFC Championship Game. After the loss, Samuel claimed that the title game "wouldn't have been close" if Brock Purdy hadn't suffered an elbow injury. He also called cornerback James Bradberry "trash."

However, it turns out he is close friends with A.J. Brown. Samuel reveals that because of his love for the Eagles star receiver, he would like to see Philadelphia win.

"I got all the love for my brother AJ Brown over there, so I definitely want to see him win. I definitely don’t want to see Mahomes get the third one. I’m rocking with AJ and Saquon with this one for sure."

Even though the 49ers were a major disappointment this season, missing the playoffs entirely, they are a good bet to be a challenger to the Eagles in the NFC for a long time. There is obviously no love lost between Samuel and the Eagles, but his hatred for the Chiefs apparently goes deeper than his feelings toward his NFC rivals.
