The second week of training camp is happening all over the league. The Eagles have a great foundation of players on the roster and have seen yet another playmaking option emerge so far in camp.
Injuries are a part of the game during the grueling months of the training camp, and an ex-Eagles wide receiver is dealing with one. According to Dallas Cowboys reporter Calvin Watkins, former Philadelphia playmaker Parris Campbell has an MCL sprain in his knee. The injury occurred in the first padded practice on Saturday, and he was seen walking off the field with trainers.

Ex-Eagles WR Parris Campbell Dealing With MCL Sprain
The severity of the sprain will determine how long Campbell will be sidelined. They can vary from one to over six weeks. For a player fighting to make the roster, every practice rep is valuable. In March, he signed a one-year, $1.2 million contract with the Cowboys after spending just one year in Philly.
During that lone campaign, he only managed to reel in six catches for 30 yards in five games. Campbell suffered a groin injury in camp that forced him to miss a lot of time last summer. That trickled into the season, where his lack of reps in the summer translated to an underperforming season.
At one point, Campbell considered retiring last summer before getting added to the practice squad. Campbell said, "I was just done. I started to pray. Ten minutes later, my head coach, Nick Sirianni, called me and talked me into signing on the practice squad. The year came with a lot of ups and downs, too."
While Campbell was able to stick around with the Birds, it may not be the same with the Cowboys. Dallas' receiver room is led by the new duo of CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens. While they will be the top 2 WRs in the aerial attack for Dallas, that room still has KaVontae Turpin, Ryan Flournoy, Kelvin Harmon, Jonathan Mingo, Jalen Brooks, Jalen Moreno-Cropper, and Josh Kelly.
Since the Ohio State product will miss time during training camp, it'll create more opportunities for these other playmakers. It will also push Campbell back in terms of getting reps in head coach Brian Schottenheimer's scheme.
Campbell still has six years of NFL experience under your belt, which could work in his favor. Across 49 career games, he has secured 123 catches for 1,117 receiving yards and six touchdowns. The last two seasons have been rough for Campbell, though, as he's logged 104 or fewer receiving yards in each campaign.
We'll have to see what his recovery timeline is looking like, but it'll be an uphill climb for Campbell.
