One of the biggest question marks for the Philadelphia Eagles is how the exit of former offensive coordinator Kellen Moore changes the offense. It is hard to imagine that with Philly's current weapons, it is a drastic change, but it remains an unknown.
In the lone season Moore coached the offense, the Eagles dominated both in the regular season and on in an incredible Super Bowl run. Despite this, the former offensive coordinator isn't suited for his new position.
Former Eagles OC Kellen Moore is in Trouble
Moore was let go by both the Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Chargers in an offensive coordinator position. It was only when the coach had the treasure trove of weapons in Philly that things didn't end in frustration.
For New Orleans, this isn't going to be the case for a head coach the team has set up for failure in every obvious way. Front office decisions have made sure that this is going to end in failure for a coach who isn't going to be given a fair shot.
Yes, the Saints can offer Chris Olave and whatever is left in the tank for Alvin Kamara. However, it won't matter if your defense can't stop anyone and your quarterback isn't capable of consistently distributing the ball. Add in a questionable offensive line, and there simply isn't a path for this season to go well for Moore.
It is an unfortunate setup that goes a long way in explaining why the coach landed the job in the first place. Experienced coaches with more options aren't going to consider choosing a team that is so poorly set up. New Orleans is poised to compete for a top-five pick in the 2025 season and hurt the career of whoever is unfortunate enough to be at the helm.
Sadly for both the Eagles and Moore, that is the position the former OC finds himself in heading into the season. Doomed in a situation that won't end well for one of the important pieces of Philly's Super Bowl run.
