The Philadelphia Eagles secured the No. 2 seed in the NFC this postseason. They were able to finish with a 14-3 record and have the Green Bay Packers rolling into Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday.

They are one of the 14 teams left competing for a Super Bowl title. While that has been the focus, the NFL announced All-Pro teams for the 2024 campaign.

The Eagles had six players on the team named to AP All-Pro squads. LB Zack Baun and Saquon Barkley were named to the First Team. Meanwhile, WR A.J. Brown, DL Jalen Carter, OL Jordan Mailata, and OL Lane Johnson were Second-Team All-Pro selections.

While those are terrific honors, Johnson's numbers indicate he should have been on the First Team over Detroit's Penei Sewell. And he's using it as motivation for the playoffs.

Eagles News: Lane Johnson Using All-Pro Snub as Fuel

Per Jeff McLane, Johnson has a table comparing stats between him and Sewell posted by his locker. That table goes as follows.

Lane Johnson

Penei Sewell

Sacks Allowed: 0

Sacks Allowed: 1

QB Hits Allowed: 1

QB Hits Allowed: 5

QB Hurries Allowed: 9

QB Hurries Allowed: 22

Pressures Allowed: 10

Pressures Allowed: 28

Pass Block Win Rate: 94%

Pass Block Win Rate: 91%

Island Rate: 75% (1st)

Island Rate: 55% (58th)

QB Time to Throw: 3.13 seconds

QB Time to Throw: 2.79 seconds

Run Block Win Rate: 80%

Run Block Win Rate: Not Ranked

Team Rushing Yards: 3,048

Team Rushing Yards: 2,488

All these numbers show that Johnson had the better season of the two but that didn't reflect on the All-Pro selections. Sewell had a stellar campaign as well but it wasn't better than Johnson's.

The Lions being the No. 1 seed in the NFC could have played a factor in why he secured First Team honors, but it didn't go over lightly in Philadelphia.

Having the numbers posted right by his locker will give the 34-year-old even more motivation. Not being put on the First Team will make Johnson go that much harder to prove that those decision-makers made the wrong choice. The Oklahoma product has been on the First Team twice (2017 & 2022) and on the Second Team three times (2021, 2023, & 2024).

Despite this snub, the Eagles have more important things to focus on. They are seeking to make another Super Bowl run and might have to go through the Detroit Lions to get there.
