As we get closer to the start of the regular season, the Philadelphia Eagles hope to have a fully healthy squad on the field for September 4.
The defending Super Bowl champs right now are monitoring the injury statuses of a couple of key starters on the offensive side. Pro Bowl right guard Landon Dickerson recently underwent a minor procedure on his right meniscus last week, and the hope is he’ll be ready for the opener against the Dallas Cowboys.
The Eagles are also keeping an eye on star wide receiver A.J. Brown, who is dealing with a hamstring injury and has been sidelined at practice.
However, Brown isn’t the only wideout nursing an injury during camp. DeVonta Smith can now be added to the list, which isn’t what you want to hear at this point in the summer.

Eagles WR DeVonta Smith Misses Tuesday’s Practice with Injury
According to Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia, the stud wide receiver was among the several players who did not practice on Tuesday.
Smith was sidelined with back tightness earlier in training camp, but eventually returned to the practice field on August 3. However, the fact that a new injury has popped up for the standout wide receiver isn’t great news.
Injuries involving the hamstring and groin could linger if not properly treated. That said, Philly will likely not play their starters in its preseason finale against the New York Jets.
Therefore, Smith and Brown should have some more time to heal and hopefully be ready for the opener against the Dallas Cowboys. The former Alabama standout has been one of the better WRs in the league, as he and A.J. Brown are one of the top duos in the league.
Last season, Smith had career lows in receptions (68), targets (89), and receiving yards (833), as he missed some time due to injury. However, he still managed to have a career-high in TDs (8) and made his presence felt in the postseason, which included a touchdown in Super Bowl 59.
With the regular season opener a little over two weeks away, Eagles fans will hope that Smith and Brown both get back to practice in the coming days.
