On Sunday, the Philadelphia Eagles became two-time Super Bowl Champions when they defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 in Super Bowl 59. A major factor in the Eagles' victory was the play of their defensive line. That said, Philadelphia has multiple defensive linemen set to hit free agency this offseason.

Josh Sweat, who had a huge Super Bowl, is among the free agents on the defensive line. The 27-year-old is expected to be looking for a contract that the Eagles may not have the means to pay. However, according to Sweat himself, money is not the only thing he is looking for.

Following the Super Bowl victory, Sweat told the Philadelphia Inquirer, "Money's important, sure, but I want to be in the right situation." This leaves the door open for Sweat to be back in green and white next season.

Josh Sweat is Open to a Return to Philadelphia in 2025

Of course, money is important to all athletes, but at the core of all their desires is winning. Entering the 2024 season, many thought the Eagles had the best top-to-bottom roster in the NFL, and their dominance in the Super Bowl proved that.

Philadelphia's defense ended the game, pressuring Patrick Mahomes on 38.1% of his dropbacks while recording six sacks, forcing three turnovers, and never sending a blitz. That type of performance is exactly what Sweat means by being in the right situation.

Nevertheless, Sweat's market will certainly be full after his performance on Sunday. According to PFF, Sweat finished the Super Bowl with three sacks and four quarterback hurries. Yet, if you watch the game, it feels like Sweat is in the backfield for every other play.

While Sweat's market will be full of potential suitors, he will be tasked with choosing the best situation, both money and team, for him. If that ends up with him back in Philadelphia, Eagles fans will be more than happy.
