Eagles SB Champ Officially Retiring as Member of Team on Thursday
The Philadelphia Eagles are 7-2 on the season and are looking to make the playoffs for the fourth straight season. General manager Howie Roseman has done an exceptional job building the roster and they have a chance to chase another Super Bowl title.
They secured their first-ever Super Bowl championship in 2018 when they knocked off the New England Patriots 41-33. That victory will always be remembered in the city of Philadelphia and a member of that team officially retired as an Eagle on Tuesday.
Eagles News: Vinny Curry Officially Retired an Eagle on Tuesday
Curry came into the league in 2012 as a second-round pick by Philadelphia. He spent eight of his 10 seasons in the NFL with the Eagles and was a consistent playmaker for the team. Curry logged 173 tackles and 30 sacks in his Philadelphia career.
He was a member of the team that won Super Bowl LII, where he had four tackles in the win. During the championship run, Curry was responsible for breaking down the huddles prior to the game. He would say, "We all we got. We all we need."
Curry was known for being a vocal and energetic leader during his time with the Eagles. After donning the Midnight Green for eight years, he finally retired as an Eagle. On Thursday he said, "To be able to play 11 years in the NFL is amazing and to get ready to retire as an Eagle is crazy."
He will also be an Honorary Captain for the Thursday Night Football contest against the Washington Commanders.s
