The Philadelphia Eagles are coming off their bye week looking to get right back into the win column. They have been battered by injuries through four weeks but things are trending in the right direction for some key difference makers.

A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, and Lane Johnson were all back at practice this week and are expected to suit up on Sunday. While they got some positive injury news on the offensive side of the ball, it can't be said for a young playmaker in the secondary for Philadelphia.

Eagles News: Sydney Brown Will Be Inactive

The Eagles signed WR Parris Campbell to the active roster and elevated OL Jack Driscoll from the practice squad. Those two moves meant that safety Sydney Brown won't make his 2024 debut.

Brown tore his ACL in Week 18 of the 2023 season and has been rehabbing his way to get back onto the field. He was a full participant in practice this week, giving fans optimism that he would suit up. Unfortunately, they'll have to wait at least another week to see the 24-year-old in action.

In 14 games last season, the Illinois product secured 45 total tackles, one forced fumble, three pass breakups, and a 99-yard interception return for a touchdown.

With the struggles in the secondary from Chauncey Gardner-Johnson, Eagles fans are clamoring to see Brown step back onto the field. The Eagles could be letting Brown get another week of practice reps under his belt before throwing him back into the fire.

Whenever he gets activated, he'll certainly have a role in this defense. He flashed last season and many people are hoping for a sophomore year leap.
