The Philadelphia Eagles trimmed their roster down to 53 players on Tuesday. The next step for NFL teams was scouring the waiver wire and adding players to their practice squads.

General manager Howie Roseman is never resting, as he added running back Audric Estime to Philly's practice squad, per Jordan Schultz.

Estime came into the league as a fifth-round pick by the Denver Broncos in the 2024 NFL draft.

Eagles Sign RB Audric Estime to Practice Squad

As a rookie last season, he appeared in 13 games and started in one. Estime had 76 rushes for 310 rushing yards and two touchdowns. He showed some flashes of being a downhill runner, weighing 227 pounds.

He was competing to make the Broncos roster with J.K. Dobbins, RJ Harvey, Jaleel McLaughlin, and Tyler Badie. It was a tough battle, but just because Estime didn't make Denver's roster, it doesn't mean he didn't play well this summer.

In three preseason games, Estime finished with 66 rushing yards, 28 receiving yards, and one touchdown. According to PFF, he totaled an 80.2 overall grade.

Philadelphia has Saquon Barkley, Will Shipley, and A.J. Dillon on the active roster, but the addition of Estime shouldn't be overlooked. He has the skillset to be a depth option in this league, and landing with the Eagles could be beneficial.

Playing behind an offensive line like Philly's is fun for a running back due to the holes and space they create. In addition, running at a defense after they had to slow down Barkley and the other RBs would only give Estime another advantage.

Nothing is guaranteed for him, as he's only on the practice squad, but the Eagles like his potential. Impressing the coaching staff in practice will go a long way in determining whether he stays or goes. Injuries are a part of the game, so you never know when your number will be called. Estime must have that mindset going into Philly and just maximize whatever chance he gets.

He is good enough to be an effective player in the NFL, and Philadelphia may be the ideal landing spot.
