The Philadelphia Eagles have a big question at CB2, and it has been a problem in the early going. That issue stems from letting Isaiah Rodgers leave in free agency for a two-year contract that was worth up to $15 million.

That money was too rich for Philly's pockets, but his outing in Week 3 showcases why the Eagles should have paid the price to retain Rodgers.

In the first half against the Cincinnati Bengals, Rodgers had two defensive touchdowns for the Vikings. The first one was an 87-yard interception return, and the second was a 66-yard fumble recovery. He then forced a fumble on Ja'Marr Chase on the following drive.

He was all over the field for the Vikings, and his presence is certainly missed in the Eagles secondary.

Isaiah Rodgers Week 3 Performance Will Make Eagles Fans Sick

The Eagles would love to still have him in their secondary. They didn't want him to walk back in March but didn't have the funds to give him the deal he wanted. That wasn't a lie, as they added Jackson on a one-year, $1.75 million deal. That was a low-cost deal, and that pay is kind of matching the play that's been on the field with Jackson.

Entering Week 3, Jackson had a 41.2 overall grade (130th among 143 graded corners) and a 40.6 coverage grade (122nd among 143 graded cornerbacks) per PFF.

While Rodgers wasn't the best either (54.5 overall grade & 48.9 coverage grade) going into this week, his playmaking ability was on full display versus the Bengals. Another underrated factor for Rodgers is that he would have been entering his second consecutive year in this system.

He built continuity with this team last season and would have brought that into the 2025 campaign as well. Nonetheless, that wasn't in the cards for Philadelphia this year, and they now can only watch their former defender have a monster game for another NFC foe.

At the same time, the CB2 is still a problem for Philadelphia. This isn't what Eagles fans wanted to see this early in the season, but the absence of Rodgers is already hurting Philadelphia and helping Minnesota.
