Dom DiSandro aka Big Dom, has become a long-standing beloved figure within the Philadelphia Eagles’ fanbase. DiSandro has been with the Eagles for 27 years, which goes back to the days of Andy Reid.

Big Dom doesn’t say much, but his stoic presence on the sidelines is always present during and after games. That said, DiSandro has gotten in a little bit of trouble with the league. According to Derrick Gunn, the Eagles' head of security/coach was fined $75,000 this past week for texting from the bench area during a preseason game against the New York Jets last month.

Gunn adds that the Eagles filed an appeal, but it was denied. Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network provided more details on DiSandro’s appeal, saying that the Eagles told the league he had only one foot in the bench area.

Big Dom’s Wallet Gets Hit for $75K Preseason Fine in Week 3

It’s not often you hear about a team’s head of security being fined for something that they did on the sidelines. However, apparently, the league had its eye on Big Dom and decided to levy its own punishment.

Surprisingly, this isn’t the first time DiSandro has heard from the NFL. A couple of years ago, Big Dom was barred from the sidelines for the remainder of the 2023 regular season after getting into a small fracas with then San Francisco 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw.

Greenlaw was fined $10,927 for a hit on Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith. Greenlaw lifted Smith off his feet and slammed him down to the ground, which drew an unnecessary roughness penalty, and a tussle ensued on the sideline.

DiSandro was caught in the middle of everything and ultimately ejected from the game. The NFL reportedly fined DiSandro $100K, which he appealed. However, the Eagles paid the fine.

The good news for the Eagles is that this latest fine by the NFL from the preseason should not become a common occurrence for DiSandro. Philadelphia fans weren’t exactly pleased with the NFL levying a petty fine, but the rules are the rules at the end of the day.
