The Philadelphia Eagles came away with an impressive win over the New York Giants in Week 7, building a winning streak for the first time this season. During the win, however, cornerback Darius Slay gave Eagles fans a scare. After being deemed questionable all week with a knee injury, Slay limped off the field, causing concern of a potential re-aggravation.

Fortunately for Eagles fans, Slay was able to return to the field in the second half. However, it's important to remember that he is 33 years old now, and these sorts of minor injuries will only become more regular.

Therefore it's understandable that the Eagles made a move to address their cornerback depth on Monday. According to Eagles insider Jeff McLane, the team added DB Tariq Castro-Fields after placing WR John Ross on the practice squad injured list.

NFL News: Eagles Sign CB Tariq Castro-Fields

Castro-Fields started the season on the Panthers, playing nine special teams snaps. He spent the previous two seasons on the Washington Commanders, appearing in ten games and seeing 27 defensive snaps. He was selected in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers. After he wasn't able to make the 53-man roster, Castro-Fields was claimed by Washington.

The 25-year-old defender will join fellow 49ers picks from the 2022 draft class, RB Tyrion Davis-Price and WR Danny Gray on the practice squad. The Alexandria, VA native who spent five years at Penn State will try to establish his NFL career in Philadelphia.
